Spreee Cookie Policy

A clear, plain English explanation of every cookie Spreee uses, what it does, how long it lasts and how you can control it.

Spreee uses cookies sparingly and only where they genuinely make the platform work better for you. This Cookie Policy lists every cookie we set, explains what each one does in plain English, says how long it lasts and tells you exactly how to control it from your account settings. The platform never uses third party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or cross site tracking, and there is no behavioural advertising profile being built from your activity on Spreee.

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can remember things between page loads and visits. Without certain essential cookies the platform simply cannot keep you signed in or remember your responsible gaming settings. Beyond those essentials, every cookie on Spreee is optional and controlled by you through a simple per cookie consent panel.

Essential cookies that the platform cannot function without

Essential cookies are the small group of cookies that the platform needs to work at all. The session cookie keeps you signed in across page loads, the security cookie carries the anti forgery token that protects your account from cross site request attacks, the responsible gaming cookie carries your active session and spend limits so they apply immediately on every page, and the preferences cookie remembers your language, region and dark mode setting.

Essential cookies are not optional. Disabling them through your browser settings will prevent you from being able to sign in, which means the platform will not be usable. None of the essential cookies carry any personal data beyond the session identifier needed to associate the request with your account, and none of them are shared with any third party at any point.

First party analytics cookies

Spreee uses a small set of first party analytics cookies to measure aggregate platform usage, identify performance issues and improve the user experience. These cookies record which pages are visited, which games are loaded, how long sessions last and which devices and browsers are most common. The data is aggregated and not tied to any individual user beyond the period needed for short term troubleshooting.

First party analytics cookies are optional and can be turned off from the Privacy and Settings panel of your account or from the cookie consent banner. Turning them off has no effect on your ability to play any game on the platform. We do not use any third party analytics service that would share your data with another company, which is a deliberate choice that costs us some insight but earns you a stronger privacy guarantee.

Functional cookies for game preferences

Functional cookies remember your per game preferences so you do not have to set them every time you load a game. The autospin cookie remembers your last autospin count per game. The quick spin cookie remembers your last quick spin setting. The sound cookie remembers your last music and effect volumes. The bet level cookie remembers your last bet level so you do not have to set it again when you come back to a game.

These cookies are optional and can be turned off from the cookie consent panel. Turning them off does not stop you from playing, but does mean you will have to set your preferences fresh every time you load a game. Most regular players leave them on because the convenience is significant.

Marketing cookies and what Spreee does not do

Spreee does not use third party advertising cookies, does not run retargeting campaigns based on your activity on the platform and does not share any cookie data with advertising networks. We do not maintain any behavioural advertising profile based on your activity. We do not allow third party advertising tags on any page of the platform.

The closest we come to marketing cookies is the first party cookie that records which Spreee branded promotional email you clicked to arrive at the site, so we can measure which of our own promotional campaigns are working. That cookie is optional, can be turned off from the consent panel and is never shared with any third party. The data stays inside Spreee and is used only to measure our own outbound campaigns.

How to control cookies on Spreee

The cookie consent banner shows the first time you visit Spreee and lets you accept all cookies, reject all non essential cookies or pick and choose per cookie category. You can change your mind at any point afterward from the Privacy and Settings panel of your account or from the link at the bottom of every page. Changes apply immediately and a confirmation banner appears across the top of the page.

If you would rather manage cookies at the browser level, the standard cookie settings in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all allow you to allow, block or delete cookies per site. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from being able to sign into Spreee, which is something the browser settings will not warn you about. The in app consent panel is generally the safer route because it ringfences the essential cookies you need to actually use the platform.

How long Spreee cookies last

Session cookies expire when you close your browser tab. Persistent cookies last for the period appropriate to their purpose. The sign in cookie lasts for thirty days unless you tick the remember me box, in which case it lasts for ninety days. The responsible gaming cookie lasts for the duration of your active limit period. First party analytics cookies last for thirteen months in line with Canadian and EU best practice. Functional preference cookies last for twelve months.

The exact list of cookies, their purposes and their expiry periods is published in a detailed cookie register inside the Privacy and Settings panel of your account. The register is updated whenever a cookie is added, changed or removed and every update is dated. If you ever want to know exactly what cookies are currently set on your device by Spreee, the register is the definitive source.

No. Spreee does not use third party advertising cookies, does not run retargeting campaigns based on your activity on the platform and does not share any cookie data with advertising networks. Any future change to this practice would be communicated by email to every affected user at least thirty days in advance with full transparency about what would change and why.
